Magical place to visit for wildlife lovers! We saw many birds including ibis roaming around. Be sure to look up into the trees to find iguanas and birds. Felt like we had the place to ourselves.
We loved roaming around and taking time to sit and enjoy all the different areas. You can spend an hour or 3 depending on your pace! Take a moment to sit in the clearing and listen to the free concert when the wind hits the wax palms.
Take advantage of the audio tour! Super easy to access and you will learn so many interesting things about all the flora.
My favorite plant was the Princewood, a few white flowers remained and they smelled like creamy chocolate. Smell every flower you can!
The hands on percussion instruments by the lake were a joy to play with and a wonderful serotonin inducing meditative experience! The turtles seemed to enjoy it too :)
Geologists and geology lovers don't forget to look down and check out the coral reef imprinted limestone that makes up the beginning paths!
Really beautiful tropical garden and a cozy playground for children, we really enjoyed it, we saw
different plants, birds, turtles and butterflies
Spend a lovely morning exploring the lush garden. Off the usual Key West tourist route. If your a plant lover this is a must stop while in Key West.
It's kinda cool walking around but honestly it's not the best botanical gardens I have been in. It gave us something to do for about an hour and was decent to see the cool plants
Beautiful nature and pond. Good variety of plant species. Relatively small and limited.
If you appreciate gardens and being out in nature, this is well worth a stop. They have lots of native trees and plants, butterflies and a ton of birds. If you enjoy birding, bring your binoculars! There were so many species there from warblers to shore birds. They also have a tropical hardwood hammock trail which I appreciated. Great signage in the garden with lots of information.
There are bike racks, a refillable water station and tables if you want to have a picnic. Well worth the 20 minute bike ride from Old Town, the historic district in Key West.
A beautiful escape from Key West! We take our granddaughter often. The turtles, butterflies, flowers, nature trails and chug exhibit are a great way to spend some time in nature. Island style. Check out our video on YouTube. Search for Wandered Off
The Cuban chugs are very interesting to see. Recommend going after the summer. Too hot now. Beautiful botanical gardens and butterflies!
